Lineage
What’s a woman to do when her dad’s the antichrist, her grandma’s the devil, the end of the world is at her doorstep, and she’s out to avenge the murders of her husband and kids?
Kill everything in her way.
Quarter-demon Peri Tokuma exists with but one goal in mind: annihilate everyone responsible for the death of her family, and then—her need for vengeance quelled—she plans to take her own life. Even greater forces are at work, however; forces that require her to play a role in the coming apocalypse; forces that wish to use her as a pawn to achieve their own ends.
But when a heart long-thought dead begins to beat again with love for another, Peri’s not so sure about anything anymore…
This book is a work in progress, and follows Bloodlines and Hunter.
Here's a fun (and random) excerpt:
“So why would they try to kill you?” Nic sat next to me on the table, long pale legs dangling.
“This is probably a totally wacky solution, I know,” Zara said. “But you could call them and ask them.”
The idea of that left a bad taste in my mouth. “And what’ll stop them from firebombing the building? Are we putting the tracking chip on a carrier pigeon?”
Nicolette frowned. “We can’t hurt a pigeon.”
“Better it than me,” I said.
“We’re not hurting any pigeons for Christ’s sake,” Zara said. “W.W.F. would revoke my membership if they heard about that.”
W.W.F.? “The wrestlers?”
“World Wildlife Federation,” Zara said, and gave me a look that suggested I’d been living under a rock for the past several years.
I looked her up and down. “You don’t seem like the tree-hugging type.”
“Hey, I’ve already lived on this planet for three hundred years. I’d rather my food source not get sick and die out, so yeah, I’m an environmentalist.”
“Huh. Makes sense.”
